Inspiration

My father crossed into the US undocumented from Guatemala, shortly after I was born. I often think about the kind of strength it took to leave four kids and wife behind and head out on a journey of an unknown path which can often be deadly. I remind my kids every opportunity I get, how much they owe to this selfless act. Although, he was never able to meet them since he passed back in 2000, my children know what type of man he was. I know that at every obstacle and challenge during that journey and even after, he thought not only about his children but his unborn grandchildren and every generation after, because that’s what was and always will be, what is on the line when people cross
